Arriving at hospital
Admission day – arriving at hospital
When you arrive at the hospital, please go to the Main Reception located on the ground floor.
If you are admitting to hospital and not having surgery, you will be admitted directly to your ward.
Prior to entering the hospital, you will be required to check in using the QLD Health App.
The Check In Qld app is compatible with the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPad touch operating iOS 10.0 or later, as well as Android devices using Android 5+.
To download the app:
visit www.covid19.qld.gov.au/check-in-qld for links to download the app from Google Play or Apple App stores
enter your details once when you first open the app
select ‘Check in Now’ and scan or enter our code
If you don’t have a Smartphone, our team will be able to assist you on arrival to the hospital.
The Check In Qld app is safe, secure and private.
Using this digital check in means your details will be stored securely by the Queensland Government for 56 days to assist with COVID-19 contact tracing (if needed).
Patients who are having surgery
Following registration, patients who are admitting for surgery, will be taken to the admissions lounge.
There a nurse will admit you, answer your questions and prepare you for surgery. You will then be transferred directly to the operating theatre.
There is limited space in the admissions lounge, so bring only one support person. If you are staying overnight, please limit your luggage to a small overnight bag.
If your family plans to wait while you are having your surgery, they will be asked to wait in an allocated waiting area or the cafe located on the ground floor.
