Teaching at SVPHN You are here:HomeHealth ProfessionalsTeaching at SVPHN With our broad clinical profile, St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside offers superb opportunities for learning.We have been involved in the teaching of medical disciplines, including nursing and medicine, for many years. In 2010 we formed an alliance with the Northside Clinical School, University of Queensland (UQ) School of Medicine. This alliance was in response to the increasing need to provide nursing and medical students with mandated clinical learning experiences. We continue to expand our teaching capacity and university partnerships. This expansion will include student groups from allied health and health information.MedicineWe are part of the Northside Clinical School, UQ School of Medicine. Medical students from the UQ School of Medicine are regular attendees at our hospital. We teach Medicine in Society to third-year students and offer regular attachments to clinical areas.Our close ties with The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH), Caboolture and Redcliffe, allow students to rotate between the hospitals with minimum travel.Postgraduate TeachingOur Intensive Care Unit has received accreditation from the Intensive Care Society for postgraduate training. Registrars can spend six months with us as part of their experience.NursingWe have a long association with the UQ Clinical School through the School of Nursing, and have partnered with the Australian Catholic University and Brisbane TAFE for student nurse training.
