Note the Diploma of Nursing Program (HLT54115) is also offered at other St Vincent’s Health Australia facilities including St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba, St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney and Mater Hospital (North Sydney).
This course will give you the skills to perform clinical assessments, contribute to nursing care of people with complex needs, administer and monitor medications and IV therapy, research and apply evidence to practice. Our highly experienced industry professionals will guide you every step of the way to ensure your transition into the healthcare sector is a success.
You will gain practical experience across acute care and critical care, working both early shifts (0700-1530hrs) and late shifts (1350hrs – 2200hrs).
Clinical placements are offered on-site at our hospital in Chermside. As part of the program, you are required to attend and complete mandatory hospital orientation and e-learning.
Successful completion of this course will qualify you to seek registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse.
The first twelve weeks of the course consists of face-to-face classroom learning, on-site at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside. Followed by three days per week integrated face-to-face and vocational placement (hands-on patient care learning) plus an online study component.

Students enrolled in this program may also be offered alternative employment within our hospital whilst studying. This is to support students as they complete the diploma. Note this employment would not be as an Enrolled Nurse.
